Biographical Information[edit]

On May 21, 1948, Rebecca Brown was born in Shelbyville, Indiana. When she was a child, her father's medical needs caused the family to move to Indianapolis, Indiana. During her high school years, she developed an avid interest in music and athletics (specifically track). Her passion for playing piano provided her with an opportunity to study music at The Juilliard School[2]. After consideration on which direction to take with her life, Rebecca opted to go into the field of medicine.

In 1985, at 36 years old, she left medicine and became a full-time Christian writer and teacher. Rebecca continued in this work until the day of her death.

In 1986, Rebecca's first book, He Came to Set the Captives Free, was published. The publication of this book resulted in Rebecca being given many calls to speak in venues worldwide. From this beginning, Rebecca ultimately authored 15 books and booklets, 5 of which were co-written with her husband, Daniel Yoder.[2]

Rebecca and Daniel met in Arizona on November 7, 1989 and were married on December 10, 1989. After getting married, Rebecca Brown's name legally changed to Rebecca Yoder. However, as her readers had come to know her as "Rebecca Brown", she continued to publicly use this name, even after the wedding.

In 1992, the couple moved to the Clinton, Arkansas area. Rebecca "Brown" Yoder and her husband, Daniel Yoder, co-founded Harvest Warriors Ministry[3], located in Clinton, Arkansas.[4]
