Roughly 200 years ago, Sam's people made an agreement with a human colony. The agreement was for the mutual benefit of each. It had worked well for some time. Over the years, the original intent of that agreement had been corrupted. It was now being used as a punishment for being born different. Samantha was the latest victim of her Government's attempt to honor a corrupt agreement. The difference was, Samantha was not your usual victim. She had a rebel spirit. She stepped off the transport with one thing in mind. She was not going to be a “good little robot”.
