Red Kite Games

Red Kite Games[1] is a British video game developer based in Leeds, England and a subsidiary of Sumo Digital. The company was founded in 2012 by former Rockstar Games developer Simon Iwaniszak and as of 2023 employees more than 80 people.
History[edit]
Early years (2012-2018)[edit]
Iwaniszak founded Red Kite Games in Huddersfield on January 16 2012 following his departure from Rockstar Games. The company started out as a small team of developers working on work-for-hire and co-development projects.
Acquisition and expansion (2019-present)[edit]
In January 2019, Red Kite was acquired by Sumo Digital making it the sixth UK based studio acquired by the Sheffield based company. Shortly afterwards, in July 2019, Iwaniszak announced the studio would relocate to a larger studio at Park Row House in Leeds city centre.
