Redaptive
Redaptive is an American company and a provider of commercial Efficiency-as-a-Service (EaaS).[1] Redaptive’s saved energy service funds efficiency upgrades across real estate portfolios.[2] The organization is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
History
Redaptive was founded in 2013 by John Rhow and Ryan Martineau.[2] Arvin Vohra joined the company one year later and shares the Co-CEO title with Rhow.[3] On April 16, 2018, the company raised $20 million in an investment funding round led by CBRE, along with investors Engie New Ventures, GXP Investments and Linse Capital.[4] [5]
Services
Redaptive installs new lighting and other energy-saving technology to reduce power use, measure building power use, and continuing to monitor operations to ensure that energy-using devices in the building are operating properly. Redaptive charges its customers a price for every kilowatt-hour that it saves from the building upgrades and monitoring. The price is less than what the customer pays its utility for electricity. [6]
Currently, the company manages a national portfolio of efficiency projects for commercial and industrial customers, including Aramark and McKesson.[7] [2]
What is Efficiency-as-a-Service?
Efficiency-as-a-service (EaaS) allows businesses to adopt portfolio-wide efficiency upgrades that generate utility savings, and customers only pay for verified avoided energy. Given limited corporate investment dollars available for energy efficiency, or efficient energy use, EaaS provides upfront capital for retrofits, data transparency to validate project savings, and resources to execute multi-site roll-outs.[1]
