Reflections on Psalms is a 1958 book by C. S. Lewis. Lewis writes here about the difficulties he has met or the joys he has gained in reading the Psalms. He points out that the Psalms are poems, intended to be sung, not doctrinal treatises or sermons. He courageously does not avoid analyzing the psalms that are more difficult to interpret, such as those psalms that speak of vengeance. Lewis faces the psalms of which no preacher or priest wants to mention. The book even has a chapter called The Cursings.
This book is an exploration of an assumed faith, not defences of a challenged faith[1].
This is a book with very personal (and brilliant) thoughts and not an academical work, as the author says:
I write for the unlearned about things in which I am unlearned myself.
