Refuel s.r.o. (also known as Refuel Works) is a Czech architectural and urban design office based in Prague and Brno. It was founded in 2011 by architects Zbyněk Ryška and Jan Skoupý.[1] Selected works have been covered in international architecture media such as Dezeen and Designboom, and in professional awards including the Czech Architecture Award and the Grand Prix of Architects.[2][3]
Selected works
- Art Villa, Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica (2019–2020). Concrete villa designed by Refuel Works with interiors by Formafatal. Published in Dezeen, Designboom, Yellowtrace, STIRworld, World Architecture Community and Ignant.[4][5][6][7]
- Kamencové jezero redevelopment, Chomutov, Czech Republic (2023). Urban and landscape revitalisation of an alum lake, following an open competition. Shortlisted in the Urbanism category of the Grand Prix of Architects 2024.[8]
- House in Skrejš, Brno, Czech Republic (2020). Family house situated in a pine forest in Mokrá Hora. Listed in the Grand Prix of Architects 2021 edition.[9][10]
- Footbridge Farská humna, Žďár nad Sázavou, Czech Republic (2021). Pedestrian bridge connecting the city centre with the park area. Finalist in the Czech Architecture Award 2021.[11]
Urban planning
Refuel s.r.o. also serves as city architect in Žďár nad Sázavou (since 2016) and in Nové Město na Moravě (since 2022).[12][13]
