Regina Lee is an Asian-American activist born in Hong Kong, China. Lee immigrated to the U.S from Hong Kong when she was 8 years-old. She is the co-founder and the Director of Development at the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center located in New York, New York and Flushing, New York.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Regina Lee was born in Hong Kong, Her father immigrated alone to the United States leaving the family behind. Lee was eight years old when she, her mother, and sisters joined him. The family settled in the Chinatown neighborhood of New York.

Lee attended Transfiguration Elementary School, St. Michael's Academy, and New York University.[1][2]

Activism and career[edit]

Lee volunteered at the 1971 Chinatown Health Fair, a ten-day event led by Dr. Thomas Tam. After the health fair, Lee helped to establish the Chinatown Health Center, now the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center.[3] She worked at the center from 1971 to 1977 and returned in 2001.
