Regina Loukotová is a Czech architect and educator. She is best known for being the founder and the head of the ARCHIP (Architectural Institute in Prague), the first international private school of architecture in the Czech Republic.

Career[edit]

Regina Loukotová graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU). During her studies, she spent a semester at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design in Norway. Since 1999, she has been working with architect Martin Roubík, co-founder of the Norwegian architectural studio Snøhetta. One of their greatest accomplishments was an award for projects in a competition at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. The model of the competition design is part of the collections of the National Gallery in Prague. In 2010, she founded ARCHIP, which she is currently in charge of.[1].

Loukotová began her teaching career at the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where she worked with her life partner and architect Martin Roubík. She promotes her vision of architectural education in the Working Group on Education for the Czech Chamber of Architects, by participating in the juries of architectural competitions and also in cooperation with specialized press and other media. She has been a member of the Board of the Fulbright Commission in the Czech Republic since 2019[2].

In a 2021 interview, Loukotová expressed her interest in green architecture and the importance of education to raise awareness on this issue. She believes that green architecture is not limited to superficial solutions like adding green roofs, but encompasses deeper considerations like correct orientation of buildings, use of appropriate materials, and respecting environmental rules[3]
