Rehtee Begum
Rechte Begum is an alleged supercentenarian Indian woman.
Life
Little is known about her life. She came into the spotlight during the COVID pandemic in India in the early 2020s in the Indian town of Baramulla. In June 2021, it was reported that her medical card confirmed that she was supposedly 124 years old,[1] (which would have made her born in 1897-1898). This would make her the oldest documented COVID vaccine recipient. She disappeared from the news thereafter, and no information about her death has been received.
If she was indeed 124 years old at the time of the vaccination, she would have been the oldest documented person on Earth. (This title has officially been held by Jeanne Calment since her death in 1997, although there have been other - unconfirmed - reports of older people, e.g.: Bir Narayan Chaudhary, Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, Shigechiyo Izumi, Toʻti Yusupova.)
