Remote Ignition Interrupter also known as "RII" is a safety device for disabling vehicles or equipment. They are a remotely controlled version of a Kill Switch. Typical systems employ radio frequency communications from a transmitter to a receiver. The receiver is attached and electrically connected to the vehicle or equipment that needs to be remotely disabled (turned off). Once the transmitter has been activated the receiver responds almost immediately to disable the ignition system of the vehicle. A Remote Ignition Interrupter does not stop a vehicle or apply any sort of braking mechanism.

Remote Ignition Interrupters are frequently used on race vehicles such as Monster Trucks, mud boggers, and race boats. Law enforcement uses them on Bait Cars.
