Renaissance Global Limited, formerly Renaissance Jewellery Limited, is an Indian Public holding company, with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, having business in manufacturing and sale of various types of diamond jewellery.[2] Brands under the Renaissance Global Ltd umbrella are Irasva, Made For You, Jewelili, Enchanted Disney Fine Jewellery US and Enchanted Disney Fine Jewellery UK.
History
1989
The company started under the name of Mayur Gem and Jewellery Export Private Limited in December 1989 with business in and manufacturing of jewellery. Mr. Chandrakant Dhanak and Mrs. Darshana Dhanak were the original promoters of the Company.[3]
1995
In 1995, Niranjan A. Shah and family acquired the entire shareholding of Mayur Gem and Jewellery Export Private Limited and laid the foundation of the company.
1997
In April 1997 the Company's name was changed from Mayur Gem & Jewellery Export Private Limited to Renaissance Gem & Jewellery Export Private Limited.
1998
On April 1, 1998, Sur Style Jewellery Private Limited was merged with Renaissance Jewellery Limited[4]
2000
In the year 2000 Renaissance Jewellery Limited purchased the facility from Saha Electronics and started business at Plot 36A-37 measuring 40,000 sq.ft.
2005
In 2005, the company was converted to a public limited company from a private limited company, and the name was changed to Renaissance Jewellery Limited.[5]
Subsidiaries
Renaissance Jewellery New York Inc. dba Verigold Jewellery is a part of Renaissance Global Ltd. Jay Gems Inc. dba Jewelmark is a subsidiary of Renaissance Jewellery New York Inc. and is part of RGL group of companies. Jay Gems focuses on branded jewellery sales and services various specialty jewellery retailer stores in the US, Canada and in Europe. Verigold DMCC is part of the Renaissance Global group of companies and is functional in Dubai. Verigold jewellery UK is a subsidiary of Renaissance Global group.[6]
Joint ventures
Renaissance Global Limited is in a joint venture with Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited; it launched jewellery brand “Irasva,” which makes fine diamond jewellery.[7] The flagship store is located in Mumbai at Hughes road with two new stores recently opened at R city mall, Ghatkopar, and Inorbit, Malad.
Brands
Renaissance Global is also the official licensee for two global brands–“Hallmark” and “Disney.”[8] Renaissance also creates jewellery for additional Disney license properties, which includes Mickey and Minnie, Star Wars, and other Disney I.P and sells diamond jewellery under Enchanted Disney Fine Jewellery in the United States & UK. In January 2020, Renaissance Global Ltd partnered with leading Chinese jewellery retailer Lao Feng Xiang to launch Disney Princesses inspired Enchanted Disney Fine Jewellery in Mainland China.[9] Renaissance Global Limited introduced “Made For You” which manufactures jewellery made with Lab Grown Diamonds.[10] The company has also launched “Jewelili” – a website that provides a wide range of Gold & Diamond jewellery.[11]
