The Republic of Stonebrig (Known as Stonebrig Republic or Stonebrig or The Park) is a Micronation located in Mckinney, Texas. It was founded on May 7, 2020 and claims the area of a small field known locally as the park.[1] It was created after Stonebridge Ranch failed to upkeep the area of the park. After this, some of the people who would go to the park declared independence from the United States and named the new country "The Republic Of Stonebrig) after the community the park was in (Stonebridge Ranch). Its capital city is Blatopia which is also its biggest city, and only city. It has 6 Provinces along with 1 Federal District (Blatopia). It is ruled by a president and is a Democratic Dictatorship. It has a human population of 0, however its estimated that 3 squirrels live in Stonebrig. It is landlocked by the United States and the U.S. is the only country that borders it. It has a total area of 52,926.04 ft². [1]

Independence and founding[edit]
On April 29th, 2020 a storm hit Mckinney, Texas. The storm blew lots of trash from the road into the park. 5 days after the storm, most of the trash was still in the park. A group of teens who were at the park to play sports decided to clear the trash. While cleaning the trash they decided that since the park hadn't been touched by Stonebridge Ranch in weeks, it would be better if they owned the park. Then on May 7th, 2020, one of the people who had cleaned the trash, who anonymously goes by Teddy, declared independence from the U.S. in hopes of keeping the park clean. Others joined the movement and when the movement ended at 9:46 PM, over 42 people had joined and left. While it was mostly a joke, the people involved did intend to keep the park clean and eventually expand to keep the whole area clean. After the movement, a flag, coat of arms, motto, government, currency and more had been established. [1]
On May 9th, the provinces Fieldland, Birdland, and the Western Territory were established along with the Federal District of Blatopia.[1]
On May 10th, the president returned to Stonebrig.[1]
Winter Storm[edit]
From February 10-21, 2021, the 2021 Texas Power Crisis froze the area and Stonebrig both lost all power and froze, killing all of the wildlife in the park. Because of the freeze, the park was only visited 4 times in all of February. Its estimated that 7 squirrels died, however only 2 bodies were found. Along with the squirrels, a small cayote was also found dead in the park. However, toward the beginning of the freeze a snowball fight was hosted in Stonbrig which had over 32 participants.[2]
Ant War[edit]
On August 1st, 2021 an ant hill had formed in Stonebrig. After a week, the ants had killed a ton of roaches and beetles, which was great for Stonebrig. However, on August 12th, 2021 a frog that had been named Bog[3] was killed by the ants. Since Bog was loved in the nation, a war began against the ants. On August 13th, 2021 fighting began when the Stonebrig army put firecrackers in the southern anthill. Then on the 14th, the northern anthill was destroyed by a shovel. After this, the government assumed the ants would have surrendered and so a peace treaty was created. The peace treaty banned ants from everywhere except the Western Territories. Later, the new province of "Dedfrogia" was named after the death of Bog. [4]
Division of Fieldland[edit]
On December 29th, 2021 the President Teddy decided that the province of Fieldland was too big to be one province. Too him, the electrical box deserved to be its own province and the north east chunk of Fieldland was just didn't fit with the rest of the province. As a result, on January 2nd, 2022, the province of Induspower was established. Then on the 3rd, the province of Dedfrogia was established and later on the same day, East Park was established, which marked the end of Fieldland. This was the first time new Provinces were created.[4]
Government[edit]
The Republic of Stonebrig is a Democratic Dictatorship. The president has all the power except for the ability to change or defy the Government Foundation (GF). The Government Foundation states that the President has all the power and serves until they either die or retire. When the president dies or retires, an election is held on who will be the next president. It also states that each Province is ruled by a Governor, while the Federal District is ruled by a Mayor. The Governor and Mayor are appointed by the president. The president can remove or restate the Governor and Mayor whenever they want.
Military[edit]
The Republic of Stonebrig currently has 2 active members. A squirrel named Tab and the current President who runs the military.[5] However, the military has only been used once during the Ant War.[4]
