Research infrastructures are those facilities, resources and services that are specifically established for scientific purposes.[1] These infrastructures are made available in the medium or long term and for whose proper construction, operation and use of specific competences are required. [2] Their function is to enable or facilitate research, teaching and the promotion of young talent.[3] They are not used exclusively by individuals or groups, but are in principle open to an international professional community.
