Brian Lloyd Onfroy, Jr. (born October 16, 1992), better known by his stage name Retch (stylized as RetcH), is an American rapper from Hackensack, New Jersey. Apart from his solo career, he was also a member of The H'z, alongside former friend and collaborator Dash.

Early life

Brian Lloyd Onfroy, Jr. was born on October 16, 1992 in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Career

2011–12: The Chayce, Bitches and Bleeps, 4LaRaza, La Cienega and Delinquents & Degenerates

Onfroy started rapping at the age of 18 in late 2010. He formed the hip hop duo The H'z (or The Heirs) in 2010 with his longtime friend and fellow rapper Darien Dash, better known as Dash. Onfroy and Dash also founded their own record label, H'z Global, in early 2011.

His debut mixtape The Chayce was released on June 24, 2011, through H'z Global. Onfroy followed it up with Bitches and Bleeps on November 10, 2011. He became more prominent in the music industry in 2012 with the release of his third mixtape 4LaRaza on May 30, 2012. Onfroy and Dash's collaborative mixtape La Cienega was released on September 21, 2012.[1] He soon followed that up with his fourth solo mixtape Delinquents & Degenerates, released on October 12, 2012.

2013–15: Polo Sporting Goods, That Time We Smoked Dust and Finesse the World

In 2013, Onfroy founded his own independent record label called Fast Money (stylized as FA$TMONEY). He released his debut studio album Polo Sporting Goods on December 17, 2013, through Fast Money. The album was completely produced by Chicago-based producer Thelonious Martin and features guest appearances from the likes of Dash, Ab-Soul and Action Bronson.

A collaborative EP with Dash titled That Time We Smoked Dust was released on May 6, 2014.[2] On April 14, 2015, Onfroy posted a video on Twitter of him smoking a blunt in front of a crowd of people and yelling "shout out to them people" and "mad ethnic right now." The video went viral with currently over 6 million views on Twitter. The video was later sampled by Pharrell Williams in two songs; Kirk Franklin's "123 Victory (Remix)", released on August 19, 2016, and N.E.R.D and Rihanna's "Lemon", released on November 1, 2017.

On June 30, 2015, Onfroy's second studio album Finesse the World was released by Fast Money.

2016–present: Lean & Neck, Still Up and After the Verdict

His third studio album Lean & Neck was released less than 7 months later on January 18, 2016, through Fast Money. In March 2016, Onfroy was arrested for armed robbery. However, the charges were later dropped.

Onfroy was arrested again in March 2017 for another armed robbery charge. He was sent to prison for 7 months and was released in October 2017. Onfroy soon released the promotional single "First Day Out" on November 3, 2017. He released his debut solo EP Still Up on December 8, 2017. Onfroy followed that up with his second EP After the Verdict on July 6, 2018, completely produced by New Jersey-based producer Grimm Doza.

On July 3, 2026, he released the 12-track album FTW 2 through Fastmoney.[3]
