Retinology

Retinology is the study of the retina of the eye. The retina is like a bridge between light that enters your eyes and the surroundings you can see. Certain cells in the retina can react to light and pass signals to the brain that let some vertebrates and molluscs see their surroundings. The word retina came from the Latin word of 'rete' which literally means net; the plural word of retina are 'retinae' or 'retinas'. Retinology is a rare and special field.
