Reverend Muzhangodil Oommen Oommen Kasseessa, (born M O Oommen, 17 December 1934) was a senior priest of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, and served the Mar Thoma Church for 59 years. He is addressed and referred to as Oommenachen.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
M O Oommen was born to Muzhangodil family of Parimanam, Muttom on December 17th, 1934 and baptized at St Thomas Mar Thoma Syrian Church Pattoor, Trivandrum. Oommen's father was Shri. P. Oommen of Muzhangodil family, Parimanam, Muttom who was an employee of the Secretariat. His mother was Smt. Thankamma of Kaithamukkil family from Thiruvananthapuram and she was a nurse at the Trivandrum General Hospital.
He attended Kunnukuzhy Upper Primary School for primary education and completed his high school at St. Joseph HSS, General Hospital, Trivandrum. He also attended the Sunday school at Olivet Sunday School Trivandrum. He completed his pre-degree at Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum. He attained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from University College Thiruvananthapuram.
He attended Jabalpur Leonard Theological College and obtained his Masters in Theology.

He was ordained as a deacon of the Malankara Mar Thoma Church on 18 June 1959 and Kasseessa on 17 October 1959.
