Revolt

Revolt is an online chat platform that allows users to communicate through text, media, and voice. It is similar to Discord in functionality although it is free and open source software. As of October 2024 it has over 500 thousand users.^[1]

History

The project first entered public beta in 2021 and got it's first influx of users following reaching the #1 rank on Hacker News.
