Reza Pishghdam

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Reza Pishghadam (born August 23, 1977) is an Iranian applied linguist and educational psychologist, best known for his idea that people are significantly influenced by their sense-induced emotions, known as emotioncy (blend of emotion and frequency), that change cognition.[1]

The idea of emotioncy (2016) has found applications in a number of academic disciplines, including education, psychology, sociology, and neurology.[2] Later on, it was expanded to include other notions such as emo-sensory intelligence (ESQ),[3] sensory capital,[4] metapathy,[5] and sensory relativism. According to him, life is a cycle of avolvement (lack of knowledge), exvolvement (seeing, hearing, and touching), involvement (direct experience), and metavolvement (making and changing).[6] It implies that when one is involved in something, other issues in life might be avolved and exvolved.[7] In fact, people come to know the world based on their level of emotioncy.[8] Pishghadam’s new words (avolvement, exvolvement, involvement, metavolvement, envolvement, transvolvement, and so on) can be employed in different fields of study to analyze and discuss life issues.[citation needed] Moreover, he introduced the idea of the emo-sensory quotient (ESQ) as a complementary notion to IQ, EQ, and SQ. ESQ means the ability of individuals in identifying, monitoring, and managing sense-induced emotions. Later, Pishghadam coined the word cultuling,[9] a blend of culture and language, to emphasize the relationship between language and culture. Cultuling means culture exists in language, and we can discover people’s cultures by examining their language. If we change the language, we can change their culture in turn.[10] In fact, he believes in cultural memes (genes), which are transferred from one generation to another generation.[11]
