The Rhinebeck Fire Department is one of 3 fire departments that provides fire and EMS services to the residents of the Town of Rhinebeck.[1]

The Rhinebeck Fire Department operates one fire station located in the center of the Village of Rhinebeck. The fire station is located at 76 E Market Street, just east of the Route 9 & Route 308 intersection in the Village Historic District.[2]

Rhinebeck FD is completely volunteer, comprised of approximately 50 volunteer members. Rhinebeck FD's individual Dutchess County department ID number is "59". Firefighters are dispatched via radio paging by the Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response who are based in Poughkeepsie.

The department operates a full complement of apparatus, including two engines, one ladder, one rescue, one ambulance, a BLS flycar, one utility vehicle, and an ATV. The department also has one chief's vehicle issued to the Chief of Department. Under the Chief there is one Assistant Chief, two Captains, two Lieutenants, and a staff of Engineers.

The rescue squad works hand-in-hand with the Fire Department and is dispatched at the same time as the fire department to applicable calls such as motor vehicle accidents, house fires, and technical rescues. The rescue squad has one EMS Captain, and two Rescue Squad Lieutenants.

Emergency Medical Services

The Rhinebeck Fire Department provides Basic Life Support services to residents of the Town & Village of Rhinebeck as well as surrounding districts when called for mutual aid. The department operates a BLS ambulance as well as a BLS flycar for second calls in the district. The department's utility truck is also stocked with BLS supplies and equipment for use when needed.

Calls are received and dispatched centrally through the Dutchess County 9-1-1 communications center in Poughkeepsie (Dutchess County Department Of Emergency Response).
