Rhonda Parrish

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Rhonda Parrish is a Canadian author, editor, and anthology curator living in Edmonton, Alberta.[1]

Biography[edit]

Rhonda Parrish began her editing career by launching Niteblade magazine in 2007[2]. Around the same time, she began publishing short stories in a variety of literary magazines and anthologies. She was in charge of acquisitions and editing for all Niteblade publications; after seven years of publishing Niteblade, she started the Alphabet Anthology series with her own publishing company Poise and Pen Publishing and the Magical Menageries series with World Weaver Press. A year later, Niteblade dissolved so she could focus on her own writing projects and curating her anthology collections.

Rhonda currently works with three publishers regularly: World Weaver Press in the US, Tyche Publishing in Alberta, and Poise and Pen Publishing, which is her own imprint.

Niteblade[2][edit]

Niteblade magazine was a quarterly publication that launched September 2007 and dissolved September 2015, publishing 33 issues. The name Niteblade came from one of Rhonda’s AD&D characters—Twilyte Niteblade. She was using that character at the time she launched Niteblade, and she let that influence her naming decision. Ira Ney drew the logo for Niteblade.

Niteblade dissolved because Rhonda decided she was ready to move on to new things in her career.

Anthologies[edit]

Rhonda is an avid curator and editor, and as of 2018 she has three simultaneous anthology series: Alphabet Anthologies (2014), Magical Menageries (2014), and Elemental Anthologies (2018). Rhonda is also co-editor of Tesseracts 21 from EDGE Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing, Nevertheless.
