Dr. Rhonda Patrick is the creator of Found My Fitness, an online health and longevity publication with articles, genetic reports, and a podcast.[1]

Patrick completed her graduate research program on mitochondrial metabolism, apoptosis, and cancer in the Department of Biochemistry at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.[2] [3] The findings from her research in these areas were published in the journal Nature Cell Biology in 2012 under the title, "Anti-Apoptotic MCL-1 Localizes to the Mitochondrial Matrix and Couples Mitochondrial Fusion to Respiration."[4]

She earned her doctoral degree in the area of biomedical science at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, also located in Memphis, TN.[5] Prior to that, she earned a bachelor of science in biochemistry/chemistry from the University of California, San Diego.[6] Following her doctoral work, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Children's Research Hospital Oakland Research Institute with Dr. Bruce Ames.[7] [8]She also did research on topics related to aging, particularly neurodegenerative diseases, at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies near San Diego, CA.[9]

In total, she has published at least 11 peer-reviewed research articles on topics including Alzheimer's disease, serotonin, Vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids, cancer biology, and related health topics.[10]

In addition to her peer-reviewed scientific work, Patrick shares health and health-related information on topics including sauna use, Vitamin C, omega-3 fatty acids, exercise, and more.[11] In particular, her work on saunas has been frequently cited. [12] [13] [14]

She is a frequent guest on popular podcasts where she has been recognized for her scientific and communications expertise on health and fitness. Dr. Andrew Huberman from Stanford University has referred to Patrick as "one of the leading public health educators on the brain and general health, aging, cancer, and nutrition."[15] Dr. Peter Attia said that Patrick is "a scientist with expertise in the areas of aging, cancer, and nutrition who translates complex scientific topics into actionable insights."[16]
