Doan was born in Indiana.
At the University of Chicago, he studied physics at Chicago U. He earned a B.S. in physics in 1926.
1940 lived in Bartlesville, OK
1942 he was Recruited by Arthur Compton to be the Director of the University of Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory, Manhattan Project.
1943, named Associate Research Director of Oak Ridge Clinton Laboratories.
1944, he became the Research Director.
Dates? Doan worked for Western Electric and Phillips Petroleum. At Phillips Petroleum, he was Chief Physicist.
Dates? Doan also taught at New York University (NYU).
In 1952, Doan became supervisor of the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory.
1963 MOved to SUn city
Died June 5, 1982 in Phoenix Arizona
