Richard John Vernon (born 10 October 1989) is a British businessman and qualified educator.
Vernon is company director and shareholder of Graduate Scheme Success Limited, a 5* Trustpilot rated consultancy. In addition he is a director of V&B Outsourcing Gambia Limited, a specialised outsourcing company with offices and headquarters in The Gambia, West Africa.
Education[edit]
Vernon attended Nottingham High School from 2001-2008, studying Economics, History and Politics at A-Level. Between 2009-2012 he studied Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter.[1] Vernon also holds a PGCE and a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking and Finance.
Career[edit]
Vernon started his career at HSBC from 2010-2015, being awarded intern of the 2011 cohort, by Chairman of the Bank, Sandy Flockhart. For the years 2016-2020, Vernon has been an educator at one of the lead Boarding schools in the United Kingdom.
In October 2018, Vernon founded Graduate Scheme Success Limited which has since grown into the highest rated company in its sector globally.[2]
In February 2020 Vernon jointly founded V&B Outsourcing Gambia Limited. Vernon has worked closely with Mambury Njie, Ousman Sillah and the Government of The Gambia, in the provision of work opportunities for Gambian youth.
The Gambia[edit]
Vernon first visited The Gambia in 2000, as part of a fishing trip with his father. He has appeared on numerous TV broadcasts in the country, including the national station GRTS as well as the main independent station, QTV.
Personal Life[edit]
Vernon is the son of a NHS Doctor and Nurse. His late Mother, Michelle Vernon (nee Hickman) passed away when he was aged 9. His maternal Grandfather, Charles Hickman, was a mathematician for NASA and worked on the Apollo program.
He speaks German to C1 international level.
