Richard Winkler (born May 20, 1948) is an American theatre producer who has produced dozens of productions on and off Broadway. Usually serving as a co-producer or investor, Winkler is the enhancing Producer of 42nd Street at the Goodspeed Opera House. He has won seven Tony Awards and five Olivier Awards.[1]
Early life[edit]
Richard grew up in Detroit, Michigan. After his mother brought him to a production of My Fair Lady, he began to partake in the theater. Attending Interlochen Center for the Arts, Richard became further involved in theater. He worked as a lighting designer for over 30 years after attending the University of Michigan.
Career[edit]
Winkler worked as a lighting designer for 35 years. He worked for years with Tharon Musser His credits include Broadway, Off-Broadway, West End, Australia,national and international tours and regional theatres, working on plays, musicals, opera, concerts, and dance.[2][3]
