Richard van Hooijdonk

Richard van Hooijdonk (Den Helder, the Netherlands, 13th March 1968) is a Dutch trendwatcher and futurologist.

Career[edit]

After completing his vocational education for economics and administration (MEAO and HEAO) in Amsterdam, van Hooijdonk studied at the University of Utrecht. Richard van Hooijdonk started his career at the international advertising agency JWT. He continued his career in various marketing and management positions at, among others, Delta Lloyd, OHRA and SNS, and was active as an entrepreneur in the marketing and communications industry. In 2014 Richard van Hooijdonk made a career switch to trend watching and futurism – giving keynote presentations, doing research and making predictions about the world of tomorrow.

Keynote speaker[edit]

As a keynote speaker, trendwatcher and futurologist, van Hooijdonk has assisted organisations such as the European Commission, Interpol, NIKE, PWC, Google, Heineken, IBM, Gartner, Booking.com, RTL and many others. He is supported by a team of researchers and analysts from the Netherlands and abroad who have been working with him since 2015.

Richard Van Hooijdonk regularly appears on Dutch radio and television. At BNR Radio, he presented the program ‘Mindshift’. He is also a regular guest on TV shows like RTL Late Night, RTL Boulevard, SBS Show News and features in programs on channels like BNR/VARA and AVRO/TROS. In 2018 van Hooijdonk published his book ‘The world of tomorrow’, which became a bestseller that same year. In addition, he published over 25 smaller publications and 700 articles.

Private life[edit]

Van Hooijdonk has two sons (2004 and 2011) and has a preference for sports, healthy food and meditation.
