Robert Wright (born July 9, 1986)[1] known professionally as Rich God is an American high-end designer, stylist and creative director of his namesake brand.[1] Rich God is renowned for his versatility in design and his ability to have an astounding eye for detail, and after going viral in 2018, he was later signed to Harp Media and Creatives, owned by Whitney Harper.
In 2017, Wright became famously known as "Rich God", responsible for the 'drip' and iconic pieces worn by celebrities on multiple red carpets.[2] Ever since, he has continued to set the tone for the term 'fashion' and what it means to so many – an ability to be uniquely yourself, while doing it in style.[2]
Career
In 2017, Wright created a jacket known as “Wraith” for the valued price of $3500USD, and it only took one social media post for the jacket to go viral. From there, multiple people wanted to purchase the custom piece. This was the original piece that catapulted Rich God’s career.
In 2018, Rich God went on to customize a corduroy, suede, mixed pattern jacket for the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike collaboration that went viral when blogger Lil Jupiter wore it. After this collaboration, Rich had ‘skin in the game’ which continued to push his career in the right direction.
Rich God’s passion for design and the art of styling is unlike any other in the industry. Most designers have qualifications behind their skill set, but Rich God simply enjoys being creative.
“I hate fashion, but I love being creative and that’s what has helped me to evolve into the designer I am today. The passion for being creative surpasses fashion itself. The word fashion means something different for each designer and stylist, yet creativity is what makes it what it is and delivers the results for each client” - Rich God
Rich God has continued to showcase his talent when he attended the 2022 64th Annual Grammy Awards alongside international recording artist, Yung Bleu. Rich God partnered with Dolce and Gabbana to create an outfit for Yung Bleu that has been seen and received around the world – a fit that is creating a buzz; and more inspiration for Rich God to continue reaching high end brands and clients.
Rich God’s creativity and talent has landed him celebrity clients in the form of Saweetie[2], Kodak Black[2], Fabulous[2], Gunna[2], Lil Baby[2] Yung Bleu[2], Money Man[2] and Lil Nas X.[2]
Personal Life
Originally from Freeport, Texas, Wright thrived in his small hometown before moving to Radcliffe, Kentucky. As a young child with an interest in fashion, Wright decided early on that working in the entertainment industry was what the world needed to see, where he could further develop his creativity.[2]
