Christopher Richard Stringini (born November 28, 1988) is an American singer and actor. He was best known as a member of boy band US5 since 2005. He was known as "Richie" with the band.

Early Life

Richie was born in Chicago in 1988 with an American origin and a Canadian-rooted father and a Polish mother. Richie was adopted when he was four days old by Kathleen and Robert Stringini from Wheaton. He has an older brother named Bobby. Richie spent his early education at a school named Acacia Academy in LaGrange.

From the age of four, he started his career as a professional model and actor and appeared in numerous musicals and commercials. His face appeared on the covers of children's books and toy boxes. He also made guest appearances in the series Lizzie McGuire and My Best Friend, as well as in the Hollywood film Rule Number One.

Career

2005-2010: US5

Not long after starring in Rule Number One, he starred in a German TV show Big in America to join a new boy band named US5 (which is managed by Lou Pearlman, the founding father of the best and well-known boy bands such as Backstreet Boys & NSYNC). Fortunately, Richie successfully passed the preliminaries by auditioning in Florida and in 2005 became a permanent member of the group. The group was quite successful in European countries.[1][2] Richie enjoyed success with the band through the successful release of their debut hit "Maria" (which hit number one in German charts) and other 10 singles, with four studio albums as well. He was a true and loyal member, remaining with the band until their disbandment in 2010 with Jay Khan and Izzy Gallegos.

He won the YAM! award for the best star of 2005.

In 2006, Richie recorded "Best Friends" as his first solo single. Although the song didn't reach any charts, it was still a well-known song.

In Promiflash, he stated that he had a good feeling about a comeback for the band and that it would be cool for him to have a comeback with the band in the future. Unfortunately, based on what the members are doing now, the band hasn't made a comeback.[3]

2010-Present: Solo Career and YouTube

After a few years of silence, Richie made a comeback with a single named "Man Down", which he recorded and released in 2012 in his native USA. The song was well known in Poland as well as other European countries. On March 4, 2022, Richie released "Someone You Loved", which is a cover of Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi. Richie also creates YouTube videos with the channel Hollowbox. The genre of videos he releases are his own solo/cover music videos. He also posts his past live streams.

Personal Life

Richie is currently single and was engaged to Monica Lewinski in 2008 until 2009. He was in a relationship with Lalaine from 2001 until 2005.

Richie now works in a hospital as a nurse.[4]

Drug Addiction

In 2013, Richie suffered a drug relapse. He was previously treated for alcohol and drug addiction and returned to rehab. [5] In 2014, Richie shocked his fans by having a drug relapse again. Although he stayed clean for eighteen months, he was facing the beginning of his addiction.[6]
