Richo Collective was founded by Shayne Lewis, Tadiwa Nherudzo & Tafadzwa Madzimure who initially managed a digital record label, "Richo Music Records". After three years of managing the label, the founders, led by the current brand manager and graphic designer, identified the opportunity to extend their creative vision into the fashion world. While the record label had struggled with digital management, this pivot allowed the team to apply their skills in design and branding to a new venture.

With a focus on quality and luxury, the founders set out to create a clothing line that would stand apart from the saturated streetwear market in Zimbabwe. Their goal was to offer something unique—minimal, luxurious, and premium-quality apparel that would resonate with their target audience.

The founders believe in quality over quantity, with each clothing piece crafted using premium materials such as 100% Egyptian cotton.
