Rick McDaniel is the president of High Impact Living, speaker, author and former Senior Pastor. McDaniel was a person in the contemporary church movement when he founded Glen Allen Community Church in 1993 resulting in a growing spiritual impact in and around Richmond, VA.[1][2]
Biography
Personal
McDaniel grew up in Windsor Locks, CT. He has three earned degrees including a B.A. from Southeastern University, an M.A. from Boston College and a Th. M. from Duke University, currently, McDaniel resides in Richmond, Virginia. His wife is Michelle and they have two sons.[citation needed]
Richmond Community Church
McDaniel came to Richmond, Virginia in 1993 and founded a church in central Virginia. The church was originally Glen Allen Community Church but changed to Richmond Community Church when additional campuses were added. An Internet campus was started in 2008 and its Facebook page grew to 165,000 likes from people in over 100 countries. The church is known for its local community outreach.[3] The church also has been recognized for their work in the community helping those in need.[4]
Speaking and writing
In 2021 McDaniel left pastoring the Church to focus on his speaking, writing and media opportunities. He has 8 Reading Plans on the YouVersion Bible App (Bible.com)[5] and is a "Verse of the Day" speaker. He has program on the Pray App (Pray.com) 'Daily Devotions with Rick McDaniel' where he is a 'Featured Leader' with a 230,000+ following.[6] His video messages are featured on YouTube, in addition his audio messages on Audible.[citation needed] McDaniel is also the Host of the popular Point of Impact Podcast.[citation needed] As a writer, he is a regular columnist for Beliefnet,[7] a contributor to "Fox News" with over 40 articles,[8] where he has been invited to be on 'Fox and Friends', as well as being quoted in various publications.[9]
McDaniel's latest book, 'This Is Living', a devotional book, reached #1 on Amazon in the Faith category. His book, 'Turn Your Setbacks Into Comebacks', also reached #1 in the Faith category.
McDaniel's book 'Comeback' generated media interest from a variety of outlets including ESPN radio,[10] Family Circle magazine and talk radio, prompting an interview from Jeff Pearlman.[11] Having written two books on comebacks, he has become an expert for media, business and individuals on comebacks.
