Ride 4
Ride 4 is a racing game developed by Milestone and published by Milestone. It is the fourth installment in the Ride series. It was released on October 8, 2020, on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on January 21, 2021, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game also includes a special edition that was released on October 8, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The core gameplay remains similar to its predecessor, but the director of the game, Schiller Leonard, decided to add new features, giving it more dynamic weather conditions, realism, tire wear, advanced technologies and mechanics, bike control, bikes and tracks, career structure, a new affinity system, aesthetics, advanced customization, and a multiplayer system. The game received some positive reviews for its single-player mode, online mode, graphics, and gameplay, but was not widely popular.

Gameplay
Ride 4 has built-in features such as automobile mechanics and physics, which enables a player to fall off when they hit an object, acceleration, drifting gameplay, realistic graphics, and realistic race tracks. Ride 4 has European, Asian, and American leagues; winning them unlocks new races, and finishing a whole league unlocks one of the other leagues. You can play one-on-one races or online races with other people. Ride 4 also has a career mode that you can play as a professional rider. Ride 4's career mode has dynamic progression.[1]Ride 4 also has a day/night cycle and dynamic weather conditions.[2]Ride 4 has a neural AI system. Ride 4 has a career mode in which you are first tasked with creating your own player and completing a race to get your license. Ride 4 has over 176 bikes, which enables you to make customizations to them. The career mode enables you to ride in Africa, Europe, and Asia.[3]It has 17 licensed tracks. [4]Ride 4 has different gameplay modes such as race mode, which includes endurance races requiring endurance bikes, and a career mode. After every race, you receive reward points for best time and placement. Credits are the currency used to purchase bikes, which are real-world bikes from producers such as Yamaha, Harley Davidson, and BMW. It also introduces a new system, the affinity system, which takes into account how often you race with a particular manufacturer's bike.[5]
Development
The game's development started in 2018 after the release of the third installment. It was led by Schiller Leonard. Production began in 2019 after the release of the third installment. The game was released on October 8, 2020, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and on January 21, 2021, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.[6][7]Milestone also partnered with Yamaha Motor Europe (their main partner) and Bridgestone, as a tribute to the digital and real-world passion for two-wheels, and will include both digital and in-store activations with activities for the community. Yamaha motors was featured on the Steelbook and the boxed RIDE 4 Special edition dedicated to the iconic Yamaha R1 2020, which will also allow access to the season pass.[8][9]Milestone also made a demo of the game on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. The game's release was announced on December 14, 2019, on the official Ride page, following the announcement trailer, with the official trailer released on July 24, 2020.
The bikes in the game are 3D models made from CAD and 3D scans of the real models. The AI of the game was produced from A.N.N.A (Artificial Neural Network Agent).[10]

The official trailer for Ride 4 was released on July 24. The announcement trailer was released on May 14. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows trailer and announcement trailer were released on October 13, while the next-gen console trailer was released in September, with the teaser trailer being released on December 4. The PlayStation 5 version of the game will be downloadable on a purchased PlayStation 4 version, and the Xbox Series X/S version will be downloadable on a purchased Xbox One version without any cost until April 30, 2021.[11]
Pre-order bonuses
The pre-order bonus of Ride 4 comes with the European Bikes Pack on the Steam platform with a 10% discount, in addition to digital special editions. The Ride 4 special edition includes Day Early Access, the European Bikes Pack, and the Japanese Bikes Pack (available only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital stores). The free upgrade will be available from January 21, 2021. The next-gen version of Ride 4 will be gifted to those who buy its Xbox One or PS4 version before April 30, 2021. All DLC purchased for current-gen consoles will also be accessible at no additional cost on next-gen.[12]
Moreover, Milestone also confirmed pre-order bonuses for the title. Pre-orders of the Standard Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will get a bonus pack with 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events, and 1 additional achievement/trophy. The special edition pre-order Bonus Pack will contain 4 iconic bikes, 10 new events, 2 additional achievements/trophies, and 3-days early access before launch. On Steam, the pre-order bonus will guarantee a 10% discount on the game price, 2 iconic bikes, 5 new events, and 1 additional achievement.[13]
The game will be available for purchase on Steam, Amazon store for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Microsoft store, PlayStation store, and EB games for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.[14]

Metacritic gave it 76/100, commending it for its numerous selection of bikes, tracks, environmental variables, driving pleasure, and its fun and challenging online mode, but criticizing its AI naivety and meaningless penalties.[28]

Screenrant commended it for its realism, realistic tracks, a challenging and rewarding game, but criticized its AI movement and controls.[30]
