Listen to this concert Rising Sun Tour or buy cd/DVDs of this concert on amazon The Rising Sun Tour was a series of shows by Kiss. It was the band's first trip to Japan since the 2004 Rock the Nation Tour. Before touring in Japan, Kiss performed at Las Vegas' VH1 Rock Honors. After the series of Japan shows, Kiss played two casino shows in California. For the non-festival dates of the tour, Kiss surprised fans by performing "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" live for the first time, and "Kissin' Time" live for the first time since 1974.[1]

In the tour program for the band's final tour, Thayer reflected on the tour:

You hear people say that a Kiss show is just all about the show and this proved that wasn't the case. When we did this tour, we proved we could succeed without all the bells and whistles. Performing in a small theater in a stripped down setting without all the bombs and pyro makes you focus a little bit more on the music and the singing. The fans dug it so much because it was raw and just the music. For the true dyed-in-the-wool Kiss fan that's what they care about the most, the music.[2]
