Ritsuko Kikusawa is a linguist who works with Austronesian languages.[1] She is currently a professor in the Department of Advanced Human Sciences at the National Museum of Ethnology (Japan).
Career
Kikusawa received her PhD from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2000.[2]
Since 2011, Kikusawa has been working as an academic coordinator raising awareness of sign language linguistics at Minpaku. She has led various projects that focus on the differences between sign and spoken language and has been actively involved in the development of material aimed at making "linguistic information more accessible for Deaf and hard of hearing researchers and students"[3]
Awards and honors
In 2008, Kikusawa was awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Prize. [2]
