Road Safety World Series is a Twenty20 cricket league which features retired international cricketers from various nations. The competition was founded by Ravi Gaikwad, the chief road traffic officer of Thane in India, in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India.[1] Sunil Gavaskar, former India captain, is the commissioner of the series, while Sachin Tendulkar is the brand ambassador.[2] The competition is supported by the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.[3]
The series has featured sides from India, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh.[4][5][6] [7]
The first two editions of the Road Safety World Series were held in India and won by the team representing the host nation. The third edition of the tournament was scheduled to be held at Leicestershire's county ground, Grace Road, in England during late September 2023 but was postponed indefinitely.[8]
