Roadica is an American nu metal band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2021 by vocalist and guitarist Grayson Rupp and drummer Noah Dombroski. Dombroski plays bass in studio album recordings.[1]

History[edit]

It began in 2020 when Grayson Rupp began playing the guitar and started a love for the nu metal sub genre. Rupp originally played drums but began playing guitar in hopes to begin a new musical group. Before this he met Noah Dombroski who is the son of Sponge lead singer Vinnie Dombroski. Dombroski also played drums and began learning to play bass. They formed the band in 2021 and it was originally called Deathworx but they changed the name in 2023. In 2024 they began recording their debut studio album on Normal Records, the album is told to represent "2000's darker side of nu metal... like Chimaira." The album is self-titled and has three singles including "Gasoline", "Trauma" and "Move".

Musical style and influences[edit]

The band is described as a "2020's version of Chimaira". They have cited influences such as Metallica, Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slayer, Coal Chamber, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Mudvayne, Megadeth, Motorhead, Sepultura, Pantera, Trust Company, Filter, Linkin Park, Taproot and Deftones. They are compared to Pass Out Of Existence by Chimaira and self-tiled era of Slipknot
