Rob Sinclair

Rob Sinclair (born March 27, 1961) is a Canadian sports broadcaster and writer based in Toronto. He has covered local, national and international sports on television, on radio and online since 1985 for CBC Television, CBC Radio, CBC Sports, The Sports Network, Global Television and CJCL.

Broadcasting career

Sinclair began his broadcasting career as a sports reporter on CBLT-TV in Toronto, working alongside Bruce Dowbiggin, Don Martin and Ken Daniels.

In addition, he served as associate producer on several TV specials helmed by noted Canadian director Stefan Scaini.

Sinclair later joined CBC National Radio Sports as a host, reporter and producer before returning to TV as a sportscaster for CBC Saskatchewan in Regina.

He was hired in 1992 as TSN's first full-time national reporter based in Ottawa, where he covered the Ottawa Senators, Ottawa Rough Riders and Ottawa Lynx.

He also spent time in Montreal reporting on the Montreal Canadiens and Montreal Expos, including the Stanley Cup Final in 1993 and the MLB strike in 1994.

Sinclair returned to Toronto in 1995 to team with Jim Tatti, Gene Principe, Don Martin and Bill Bird on Global Sportsline.

Sinclair also made weekly appearances on Global's First Up and occasionally filed for CNN World Report among others.

He joined The Fan 590 in 1998 as a radio sportscaster and later CBC Sports as senior writer/editor for CBCSports.ca and Hockey Night In Canada.
