Rob Stein (also known as Robert Stein) is an American businessman and author. He is the founder and CEO of Astor Investment Management,[1] an asset management firm based in Chicago.[2][3]
Education and career
Stein graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree.[4]
He started his career as a project analyst for the Federal Reserve and later was a portfolio manager at national banks. In 1994, he founded Astor Financial, Inc., the parent company of Astor Asset Management LLC and the predecessor firm to Astor Investment Management, LLC. When Astor was acquired by Knight Capital Group, he was a part of the Executive Committee. In a management restructuring of Knight Capital, Stein re-organized Astor as an independent firm. He is the co-creator of the Astor Economic Index® (AEI).[5]

Community service
Stein is the founder of the I-CARE Foundation,[7] an organization working towards patient management at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Vice Chairman of the Board of Advisors to GlenKirk, an organization that supports people with special needs.
Personal life
Stein was born in Chicago. He attended Tulane University for 2 years[8] and then transferred to Michigan. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife Eileen Stein and son, Spencer Stein.
