Robert Bonomo (born 22 September 1993) is a Canadian modern pentathlete. Bonomo was a multiple National medalist in swimming before transitioning into modern pentathlon in 2017. A year later, in 2018, Bonomo won the Canadian National Championships, which qualified him as a member of the Canadian National team[1].
Bonomo was absent from domestic and international competition during his 2020 and 2021 season due to a number of health complications, including a herniated lumbar spinal disc, as well as ulnar neuropathy in both arms.
Bonomo attempted a comeback to competition in 2022 after undergoing spinal surgery. He represented Canada at the 2022 World Championships where he placed 68th.[2]
In 2023, Bonomo qualified for the 2023 Pan American Games. He competed in the men's individual event where he placed 22nd[3] and the men's relay event where he placed 8th[4].
