Robert’s background is in software development and large-scale software engineering businesses. Robert is passionate about realising customer needs through the marriage of people and technology. Robert build strong trusted relationships by providing an independent, impartial, proactive and considered voice within the group. Robert has over 22 years’ experience in the defence industry. In 2019, Robert joined SeeByte Ltd as the Strategy and Business Development director. SeeByte is a software first business focussed on the advancement of uncrewed and robotic autonomous systems. In 2023 Robert was appointed to the SeeByte board as the Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to SeeByte, Robert joined Thales Underwater Systems Ltd in 2002 as the head of submarine software engineering group. Over an 18-year career at Thales Robert developed his defence expertise in Anti-Submarine Warfare, Mine Counter-Measures and Electronic Warfare domains. In 2011 Robert was appointed to company director responsible for the Electronic Warfare Business Unit and in 2014 as company director for Above Water Combat System Business Unit before retiring from Thales in 2018. Prior to Joining Thales Robert worked in the Telecommunication industry developing smart phones for Ericsson Mobile AB in Sweden. Robert earned his Master’s degree in Engineering Management. [edit]
