Robert Miltenberg
Robert Allen Miltenberg is an American writer, artist, musician, inventor and independent publishing pioneer. He was born on October 31st in New York City.
Career
Miltenberg began professionally writing for local newspapers while at the University of Florida. He joined Case & McGrath Advertising as a junior copywriter in the late 70s. His very first project was a radio commercial with James Earl Jones for Paul Robeson On Broadway. Later, he served as a creative director with global advertising agencies from New York to Los Angeles to London to Tokyo. Commercials he’s written and produced for clients like Apple, Microsoft, American Express, McDonalds and Burger King have been viewed by millions.[1] Miltenberg also provided his promotional insights to U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and music legends including Dizzy Gillespie, Toni Basil, Devo [2] and Everclear, among many others. Miltenberg began self-publishing in 1980 by introducing the celebrated underground literary/visual arts magazine NeWrite [3] -named for George Orwell’s NewSpeak from his classic 1984. Today, NeWrite [4] can be found in the Library of Congress as well as university libraries across America. During that same time in the early 80’s, Miltenberg walked into the Astor Place subway station one night and happened upon the legendary Keith Haring as he was creating true underground art around Greenwich Village. From that, Miltenberg developed his own visual style known as Topographical Acrylics [5]

Inventions
Miltenberg has thus far invented several instruments: the Peletar: a harp-like instrument made strictly of Ohia Le Huie from the Big Island of Hawaii. The Unitar, an inline string design employing coconut wood and a seashell reverberator. The Wing Flute. A two in one bamboo wind instrument that provides an extra octave.
