The Robert Walls Medal is an Australian rules football award presented to the player judged best on ground in Australian Football matches between Brisbane and Carlton.[1]
It is named after former footballer Robert Walls, who played for Carlton from 1967-1978 and won three premierships with the club in 1968, 1970, and 1972. Walls transferred to Fitzroy midway through the 1978 season, and finished his playing career there in 1980. After retiring as a player, he took over as Fitroy's Coach, leading them to a finals appearance in his first season. Walls coached Fitzroy until 1985, when he was swapped as senior coach with David Parkin at Carlton. He won the premiership with Carlton in 1987, and later coached for the Brisbane Bears, who merged with the Fitzroy Lions to become the current Brisbane Lions.
Brisbane player Josh Dunkley won the inaugural Robert Walls Medal in 2025.[2]
