Robert Ladislado Zapata (born December 10, 1954) at the Lincoln memorial hospital in Los Angeles ca, is an Mexican American drummer, started playing drums at the age of 7 the first band Robert had was in elementary school first grade played standing up for the first year. as time move on Robert got he's first full drum set often jamming in the garage with older brother Richard Zapata who played bass guitar. as Robert grew up playing with he's older brothers friends he got better and better on the drums. one day brother Richard Zapata came in to the garage were Robert was practicing on the drums and ask Robert if he would like to go meet (Frankie Cannibal Garcia) the leader and singer of "Cannibal and the Headhunters" and this is were it all started for Robert Zapata. After the first time Robert met Frankie Garcia "AKA" Cannibal Robert was in awe when they meet and two years later Robert found himself playing drums with "Cannibal and the Headhunters" this was in 1969.

After many years of playing drums in Cannibal and the Headhunters: Frankie "Cannibal" Garcia in 1983 decided to retire from the music business due to health issues and transferred ownership of the group's name to Robert Zapata. Robert Zapata is the legal owner of the trademark (Cannibal and the Headhunters) Robert Zapata continues carrying on the legacy of Frankie Garcia's group for over 50 years and still performing today. Cannibal and the Headhunters has performed with some rock & roll's best. within a year of the group's formation Cannibal and the Headhunters were sharing the stage with "The Rolling Stones" "The Beatles" The Temptations" "King Curtis" and many more. today Robert Zapata carries on the legacy of Frankie Garcia over many decades the group still performs with all the best of the 60's rock & roll groups and single artists "Denny Lanie" of Moody Blues, "Joey Mulland" Badfinger, "Chuck Negron" voice of dog night, "The Tokens" "Dennis Tufano" voice of the Buckinghams, "Little Anthony" "Marilee Rush" "Bobby Kimbal" ToTo, "Ben E. King"stand by me, "Mary Wilson" Supremes. Robert Zapata has been playing drums for 58 years and still going strong. after suffering a heart attack and flatlined in the hospital they were able to bring Robert back and a few days later a triple bypass was performed and was successful. today Robert Zapata is playing stronger than ever a article in modern drummer magazine were Robert gives an interview talking about touring recording and playing live. in 1988 Robert Zapata and his group toured with a show called (30 years of Rock & Roll) the tour ran eight years Robert Zapata and his group played throughout US and overseas.

The members of "Cannibal and the Headhunters" today are leader Robert Zapata Drummer vocals, Charlie Munoz lead vocals, Billy Cormier guitar vocals, George Garcia Bass guitar vocals, Dave Goldstein keyboards vocals, Karl Carrasco keyboards vocals.
