Roberto Gemori (Italian: [rɔbɛrtɔ ˈd͡ʒɛmɔri]; 15 January 1973) is an Italian author and artist whose work is inspired by Polynesian tattoo cultures.[1]

Biography[edit]

Roberto Gemori was born in Milan, in the north of Italy, in 1973, moving to Savona at age 3. Growing by the sea from early age marks his life and sets the basis for his fascination with the Ocean and with Polynesian cultures. Aged 40 he moves to Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, where he currently lives and works. His designs are published on websites[2] and magazines,[3] under the nickname GiErre. He writes books and manuals on Polynesian tattoos under his real name.

Bibliography[edit]

In 2011 Gemori published The Polynesian Tattoo Handbook, an introduction to Polynesian tattoos and their meanings, followed in 2018 by The Polynesian Tattoo Handbook Vol.2. In 2014 he published a collection of 92 designs called Polynesian Tattoo Designs: Ocean Legacy and in 2018 he published with Shambhala Publications a coloring book called Polynesian Tattoos. 42 Modern Tribal Designs to Color and Explore.
