Robot Champions is an upobot combat action, arcade video game developed by Prospect Games. It has fully-3D environments and is built in Unreal Engine.
Currently, it is in Pre-Alpha stage with the latest release being Pre-Alpha 0.42.
The game was originally crowdfunded through Kickstarter but when that turned unsuccessful, Prospect moved the game to a Patreon page where it successfully continues to receive funding.
Gameplay[edit]
Robot Champions is an Action game. The player controls a radio-controlled robot chosen from either these six robots: Stampede (a flipper bot), Halo (a vertical spinner), Cleaver Boy (a horizontal spinner), Terrortops (a wedged stabber bot), Gigahurts (a hammer bot) and Wartoise (a puncher bot). These robots battle it out with each other in order to win. Ways to win a battle include dealing enough damage to the robot so that it explodes, immobilizing the opponent (such as flipping them over), or in some cases eliminating them by pushing them out of the arena.
Different types of arenas are available to play, With them either having little to lots of arena hazards.
Currently, it only has a multiplayer mode, which connects through Peer-to-peer, but a single-player mode has also been announced.
In the multiplayer mode, you can host or join other matches. You can create matches by choosing what arena to use, The time limit for the round, and other variables.
Reception[edit]
The game currently receives very positive reviews from fans[2] and has a healthy fanbase on Steam and Discord with tournaments held frequently. The graphics are good and the physics are somewhat realistic but thankfully are much better than the explosion prone RA2[3]
