Rodney Spencer[edit]

Rodney Miguel Spencer (born September 20, 1996) is an American Television host, on-air Correspondent and reporter. He's currently a correspondent for the nationally syndicated television show, "The List" based in Phoenix, Arizona and a reporter for WCIU-TV in Chicago, Illinois[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Rodney Miguel Spencer was born September 20, 1996 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He later moved with relatives to Miami, Florida before relocating to Chicago, Illinois and South Bend, Indiana.

Spencer holds a degree from California State University, Northridge and the University of California, Los Angeles.[2]

Television career[edit]

Spencer began his professional on air career in Louisville, Kentucky at WHAS-TV as a reporter [3] before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to work at the nationally syndicated television show, The List [4] which films at KNXV-TV.

While covering Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Arizona, Spencer was the first reporter granted access behind the scenes with pilots working for the United States Air Force on security measures for the game. The USAF gave Spencer unprecedented access to travel on their Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker during the refueling process for their fleet of General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon jets patrolling the skies above the Super Bowl. The nationally syndicated story took the audience behind the scenes of security measures put in place by national law enforcement.[5]

In 2018, Spencer also joined the local morning television show, You & Me on WCIU-TV as an on-air correspondent in Chicago Illinois. Spencer was the first Chicago television host to interview Bishop TD Jakes on the set of his new show, 'T.D. Jakes Show'[6]

Spencer has previously worked for WTVJ-TV,[7] the Oprah Winfrey Network [2] and Extra (American TV program)
