Roland Paris (1894 Vienna - 1945 Swinemünde)was an Austrian painter, sculptor and wood-block engraver and one of the most recognisable artists of the Art Deco world. Studied under Henry van de Velde and Gottlieb Elster at the Art School in Weimar, continued his education in Munich, ran his own publishing company as a graphic artist, worked mainly as a designer for porcelain sculptures for the following companies, among others: Rosenthal, Hutschenreuther, Heubach, Fraureuth and the Schwarzburger Werkstätten, was active in Berlin Source: Thieme-Becker
