Rolando Edgardo Argueta Pérez (born 20 February 1972) is a Honduran politician and lawyer, serving as president of the Supreme Court of Honduras since 11 February 2016.
Early life and career
Argueta has served as director of prosecutors in the Public Ministry and is one of the youngest men to serve on the Supreme Court of Justice. Argueta was proposed by the workers, and his affiliation is nationalist. He is originally from Lepaera, Lempira, and was born on 20 February 1972. He has a postgraduate degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure from UNAH, promotion 2005/2006. He has a master's degree in Civil Procedure Law from Unitec. He was general director of the Prosecutor's Office since 18 September 2013. He was a member of the Judicial Council, elected on 6 September 2013. He served as a magistrate of the Santa Rosa Court of Appeals.[1]

The lawyer Argueta arrived at the head of the highest court of justice in Honduras after three weeks of suspense where it was even doubted if he was going to remain in plenary session. Uncertainty prevailed because the professional did not reach the necessary support in the National Congress in the first four attempts, despite being qualified as the favorite.
