RollsPack Packaging was founded in 1985 in Melbourne and has evolved to become one of the largest privately held paper, packaging, and recycling firms in the world. RollsPack operates in Australia, China, New Zealand, and the United States (where it is known as RollsPack Productions). Phillip Rolls is the owner of RollsPack.  Phillip has presided over significant expansions into the Asian and American packaging markets, positioning RollsPack as the Australasia region's leader in e-commerce, food security, tamper-evident packaging, and retail packaging innovation. RollsPack brings to the market a returnable mailer which has proven very effective during the COVID-19 lockdown period of 2020.

History[edit]

RollsPack commenced operations in Cheltenham (VIC Australia) in 1985 as Hardeman & Rolls - a plastic bag manufacturer. In 1986 they obtained their first major carry bag customer - clothing retailer "Just Jeans". As the business kept expanding, after 1 decade (1995) the business required additional floorspace and moved into larger premises twice between 1898 and 1995.

Gary Hardeman departed the company in 1995 and the company changed it's name to RollsPack, and once again relocated to a larger site - it was at this point in time that Phillip Rolls undertook a complete review of the business and began introducing state of the art equipment in order to develop and produce exciting new packaging solutions.

In the year 2000 Phillip Rolls continued with the modernisation of the company and moved into an expansive stage of development - relocating into a larger, purpose built premises in Braeside Vic (Australia). This expansion in capability saw the company experience growth both domestically and internationally. in 2009 the company expanded into New Zealand and also domestically into New South Wales (NSW).

2014 led to the purchase of the multimillion dollar Gravure Printing Press allowing the company to compete with international markets and become Australia’s leading packaging SME. The company also launched a new division, RollsPack Promotions.

2015 Rollspack is nominated for Business of the year in the Melbourne Business Awards, which recognise the achievements of small to medium sized enterprises.

2016 RollsPack receives NASAA Organic Certification for our Flexible packaging. For a consumer, the certification of an organic product signifies the integrity of that product. A Fischer & Krecke Printing Press is Installed. Equipped with SMART GPS system, allowing the company to speed up production and meet the challenges of the packaging market. RollsPack opened a premises in China to expand it's services to the European, American and Chinese markets and help reduce costs for Australian clients.

In 2017 RollsPack was in attendance at the FPLMA Australian Packaging Awards, where they were declared winner of 5 awards including “Best In Show”.

2018 RollsPack scooped the pools at the FPLMA Australian Packaging Awards, taking away 7 awards including 6 Gold and “Best In Show”.
