Roma Zver
Roma Zver was born on 7 December 1977 in Taganrog. At school he took interest in playing the guitar, began writing songs and performing them with his friends. Roma founded "The Asymmetry" band then. He has graduated from the construction college in Taganrog first and later Don Interstate College of construction and economy. In 2000 he moved to Moscow where he met a composer and music video director Alexander Voitinskiy. In 2001 they have founded the group Zveri (The Animals).
In 2004 the Zveri got MTV Europe Music Award as the best Russian act. Also Roma Zver's band got the same award from MTV Russia. In 2005 the band got into the list of the richest Russian stars according to the Forbes magazine. The Zveri band has won the MuzTV award as the best Rock band 9 times. In 2006 Roma Zver has published his autobiography named "Dozhdi-pistolety" ("Rains-Guns") where he described his Taganrog life before moving to Moscow and founding the group.
In November 2008 the band performed as the final act of the RMA award of MTV Russia with a scandal. After playing their 10 minute set made up of all the old hits Roma Zver finished the performance by showing the middle finger and left the stage while the guitarist standing in the middle of the stage smashed his instrument with "No more rock on RMA" written on it. This protest was caused by the fact that the group was asked to lip synch which was utterly unacceptable.
On 8 March 2011 the fifth studio album "The muses" was released. There were 9 new tracks and cover-tribute for the song "Peremen" (Changes) of the band "Kino" (The Cinema).
In 2013 a new CD "Zveri The Best" was released. There were the best songs from the first five albums recorded in a new way. The anniversary album of the best songs of the Zveri band was on the 3rd place of the top 3 of Russian iTunes, which has been the best result among the Russian albums by this moment.
In 2017 Roma Zver has published the second part of the autobiography "Solntse za nas" ("The sun is for us"). On 15 September 2017 a mini-album EP "Druzia po palate" "The ward friends" was released.
In 2018 Roma Zver has released a selfie-video "Veselo" ("It's fun"). The video was shot by himself without leaving the flat where the song was actually written. On 15 March 2018 a second mini-album EP "Vino i kosmos" ("Wine and space") was released. In the period 2001-2018 the Zveri have recorded 8 studio albums and filmed 24 videos, 7 of which were directed by Roma.
Nowadays the Zveri are one of the most touring groups in Russia. In 2016 the group performed in some of the European countries. In spring 2017 the Zveri band went to a big tour in the USA and Canada with their show "The best". There were hits from all the albums for the last 15 years included in the show.
In summer 2017 Roma took part in Kirill Serebrennikov's movie Leto (film) ("The summer") as a musician Mike Naumenko. Roma and the Zveri band not only participated as actors, but they also record the soundtrack for it. The musician and his colleague German Osipov became the sound producers of the movie.
