Roman Gavrilov (born November 22, 1976)[1] is a former Russian general.
Gavrilov was born in Aleksandrov, Vladimir Region. He graduated from the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs 2010. From 1997 to 2017, he served with the FSO of Russia. From 2017 to 2019 he was Assistant Director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. He was appointed Deputy Chief of the Russian Rosgvardia (National Guard) on June 7, 2021.[1] Units from Rosgvardia participated in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. The units had mediocre success and suffered heavy losses. Gavrilov was removed from his position.[2]
