Roman Kinal (born July 20, 1998) is an American Collegiate ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing for the University of Connecticut of the NCAA in the Hockey East.

Collegiate[edit]

2018-19 (Freshman Season): Only rookie to see action in all 34 games…Ended the season with seven points on one goal and six assists…Led all rookies on the squad in blocked shots with 29 and sat ninth among all Hockey East rookies…Had 11 penalties on the season, tied for most on the squad…Had a season high five shots on goal in the first game of the season at Army (Oct. 12)…Scored his first and only goal of the season at Northeastern (Nov. 09)…Had his only multi-point game of the season that same night picking up an assist…Had an assist on the first goal of the night in the 3-2 OT win against then No. 13 Northeastern (Feb. 07)…Picked up an assist in the game winning goal against then No. 2 UMass (Mar. 08).

Before UConn: Played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL...Appeared in 51 games this past season, scoring a goal with seven assists…Was fourth among the team’s defensemen…In 2016-17, Kinal was a member of the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the NAHL where he played in 53 games…He scored three goals with nine assists for 12 points[1]
